Apparently, the baby is the size of a spaghetti squash this week. I get updates every week from Babycenter.com, telling me what food size she is. We've decided on the name "Lucy" for her, unless she comes out looking like her name should be something else, then we'll go with a choice of back up names. Call me crazy, but I talk to her. She kicks and responds the most when I do this. Its such a cool feeling! I felt hiccups for the first time last week. At least I'm pretty sure that's what they were..Anyways, today is Josh's graduation from Basic Combat Training. I really wish I could've gone, but since I will be seeing him in a few short weeks, decided it would be best to save my money and energy for that. Plus, I just couldn't see myself running around Kentucky all alone for a day or two. He gets most of the day off for "family day", and is going out with a friend and his family. So I will be getting a phone call from him today. Tomorrow he carts off to his AIT (advanced individual training) in Fort Lee, VA. Ooo, almost forgot! His good friend that was taking the discussions in church got baptized! And not only that, but a bunch of other guys did, too, and Josh has been able to help out with some of the confirmations. Pretty crazy! I don't think this would have happened had he left when he was supposed to back in June. God sure knows what he's doing!
I layed awake for awhile last night thinking. I know and have met a lot of women who seem to think that their career is the most important thing in life, so they put off getting married, or get married and not have kids in order to make their high powered career top priority. I don't know why it bothers me so much, it just has been lately. To me, being a mom, (although I'm not yet), and getting to experience what really matters in life is priceless, no matter how much any job would pay. Maybe its just me, because I knew this is where I wanted my life to go, but I feel those money driven women just have a loose screw.
Okay, I'm done ranting. :)

i'm imagining that spaghetti squash in your womb!! :o) that has to come out!! yow! how exciting to see my youngest daughter pregnant and raising a garden full of fruit and vegetables. it's alot easier to imagine her size when they describe it that way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with my first my little brother was about 13 and the look on his face as my big tummy shook every few seconds in a pattern was hilarious. At first he didn't believe it was the baby having hiccups. Oh enjoy it all, it really is a priceless experience.
